Becoming a Member

Greetings everyone, and thanks for subscribing to our mailing list. I have made some big changes on the website in the past few weeks. I do hope you like the new look of our homepage. If you spot any spelling mistakes, let me know in the comments.

You can now apply for membership online. Here is a step by step guide how to join:

1. Click Join - There is now a blue Join button at the top of the homepage. This will ask you to log in to our website. If you haven't signed up for an account yet, click "Sign up with email" then enter an email and password and click "Sign up". If you signed up previously, look for where it says "Already a member? Log In".

2. Complete the form - Select the type of membership you want to apply for, be it an Associate, Member or Patron. You can read a little about each on the page. Fill in your personal and contact details, and read the declaration.

3. Submit application - When you're ready, click "Submit application" to register your application in our database.

4. Pay now - Once you've submitted your application, click "Pay now" to visit the GoCardless website and set up an annual direct debit to automatically pay your subscription, hassle free.

I've tested it using the Google Chrome web browser, so if you have problems I would suggest trying that to start with. Failing that send me an email to leader@essexindependence.org and I will try to find a solution. If all else fails we'll put a paper application form in the post.
